At morgsatlarge there is an excellent and detailed account of the dangers posed by the nuclear reactor meltdowns following Japan's earthquake. In short, a heck of a lot better designed than Chernobyl and coping quite well with a disaster five times bigger than its design parameters. And the press have almost entirely got it wrong.
